Senior Tax Associate - INTERNATIONAL

The Senior Tax Associate – International is responsible for organizing and coordinating the preparation of clients’ international tax data for accurate and timely completion of business and individual tax returns.  This position delivers high quality tax service when contacting and advising international clients.  The Senior Tax Associate – International supports the international tax department through providing advisory services and building and managing client relationships.

Responsibilities: 

  • Organize and coordinate the preparation of clients’ international tax data for accurate and timely completion of business and individual tax returns. 

  • Support the international tax department through providing advisory services and building and managing client relationships. 

  • Deliver high quality tax service when contacting and advising international clients. 

  • Apply functional knowledge of tax law and principles to income tax statements and balance sheets of international entities in order to understand potential tax issues and complete required foreign filings. 

  • Conduct international tax research projects and prepare memoranda. 

  • Review tax identification number applications, annual report filings, and personal property tax returns for individuals and business entities.

  • Coordinate and prepare U.S. state and federal tax returns and accompanying form filings for individuals and business entities. 

  • Prepare international tax filings and accompanying forms for individuals and business entities.  Form filings to be prepared will include Forms 1040, 1120, 1120F, 926, 1116, 1118, 5471, 8621, 8858, 8865, 8886, etc. 

  • Review U.S. state and federal tax returns and accompanying form filings for individuals and business entities. 

  • Review international tax filings and accompanying forms for individuals and business entities.  Form filings to be reviewed will include Forms 1040, 1120, 1120F, 926, 1116, 1118, 5471, 8621, 8865, 8886, etc. 

  • Train Tax Associates in return preparation through reviewing workpapers and returns, identifying and correcting errors, and explaining and teaching related concepts. 

  • Monitor workflow of Tax Associates and provide guidance to Tax Associates in the performance of duties. 

  • Interface with Internal Revenue Service to address and resolve issues. 

  • Prepare tax provisions in accordance with FASB ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes. 

  • Utilize tax preparation and workflow software (including Axcess Tax, Engagement, and GoFileRoom) and tax research software (including BNA and RIA Checkpoint). 

  • Write, revise, edit and proofread correspondence, memoranda, charts, tables and other company documents. 

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting;

  • Possession of, or eligibility for, enrollment to practice before the Internal Revenue Service;

  • Three (3) years of public accounting experience; and

  • One (1) year of experience with international tax preparation and forms.

All experience may be concurrent.
